I went through this deep and dark period in my life, where I felt uncertainty, hopelessness, fearfulness, powerlessness...
And then I woke up. 11 months on.. and I'm not proud of it ...but hey... we aren't perfect..we embrace our imperfections.
Let's face it 2020 was not what anybody - any regular, day-to-day person could have anticipated. While the powers that be, were doing their "thing" we, the "average Jo's"(and I'm a lil bit feminist..so..deal with it!) were caught in this crazy spiral of events that has forever changed our lives and our perspectives on everything that we assumed were "normal".
Now, we, face the "new normal". What a tagline...the "new normal"! I loathe it. We should all be ashamed of that!! I don't like the "new normal" because a few people decided that "research" could be abused to this extent, for selfish and personal (national or just personal we might never know) greed for power and control.
Incarceration is a punishment for a reason!!! Denying human contact ( in the name of social distancing) is a punishment not a damned "NEW NORMAL"!!! That is why people who abused their humanity are put in JAIL!! To deny them, social contact so they, can hopefully reflect on their crimes against other humans!!! WE ARE SOCIAL BEINGS! WE NEED human CONTACT!! We have done nothing wrong!
But, here we are... lost jobs, poverty like we have never seen before, the deaths globally; was this part of a greater plan to anhialate people, the global population, so that a certain "elite" few could continue to feed their need to feel entitled and priviledged, at the expense of everyone else? Is this part of that whole "conspiracy" about the "new world order"??
Is this what humanity has been, or rather, is being reduced to?
This global pandemic was caused by certain margins who felt the immense need to "control" the rest of the planet. The lockdowns and quarantines and curbing of civil and basic human rights of freedom of movement was caused by a singular "virus" most probably man-made. In a span of one year... we, have had to face global civil liberties taken away and "governed" by one means or another, in the name of public safety, and health?!
I will say again. We are human beings. We are social beings. The highlight of humans is the ability to interact and communicate with each other and then, thrive on it - be it through travel or face to face meetings, bonus internet meetings. The bonding...that we need, person to person interactions, have been robbed from us, by a few human beings who probably never enjoyed that type of interactions - people with, severe, autism spectrum disorders in so far as a I know, as a special educator.
Why do we have "diplomatic ties"? Why do we have things like "bi-lateral" ties and "trade" deals.. we NEED damned human to human interaction.. active interactions. We might not agree but that is part of being freaking HUMAN!!!! (show me two identical DNAs... even from identical twins!! We are DIFFERENT but we are HUMAN!!)
A singular "man-made" virus reduced people to not being able to travel for God-knows how long, diminished educational access for millions of children across the planet, reduced free-trade, and even affected simple family-relationships. What kind of "communism" is this? What "new world" is this being carved out and forced upon us?
As an educator, it is my duty and obligation to question what education and then, scientific developments have led to... 2020! *cheers to year 2020*. We strived to educate and develop minds... what have we done!!!? I feel let down and ashamed....of what humanity has come to...
